How padel pricing works in the US
Most padel brands set a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) in the US: the lowest price their authorized stores may advertise. That's why a racket shows the same price at every authorized US store, and why US prices work differently from Europe.
What MAP means for youThe short version
US padel pricing in three lines.
- Brands set the advertised priceEach brand sets a Minimum Advertised Price for its US retailers.
- Authorized stores show the same priceSo the same racket costs about the same at every official US shop.
- Our guarantee covers the restIf an authorized US store advertises it for less, we match it.
What is MAP?
MAP stands for Minimum Advertised Price. It's a policy a brand sets for its US retailers: authorized stores agree not to advertise the brand's products below that price. MAP policies are common across US retail, from tennis and golf to cycling and electronics.
-
The brand sets it
Each brand decides its MAP for the US. Retailers don't choose it, and it applies to every authorized store equally.
-
It covers advertised prices
MAP applies to the price a store shows on its site, in ads and in emails. That's why prices line up across authorized US stores.
-
Sales still happen
Brands approve promotions and end-of-season clearance. When they do, the lower price is open to every authorized store.
-
Policies vary by brand
Padel is still a young market in the US. Some brands apply MAP to their whole range, others are still putting it in place.
Why order from a US store
A European listing can look tempting. If you play in the US, buying locally is the safer choice.
Shop padel rackets-
Warranty and after-sales service
Official brand warranty, handled here in the US. If something goes wrong, we take care of it.
-
Easy returns and exchanges
Not the right racket? Return or exchange it within 30 days.
-
Fast delivery, no customs
Orders from Europe take longer, get held at customs and often come with import duties to pay.
-
The official route
Brands supply European shops to serve Europe, not the US. Authorized US stores are the official way to buy here.
Is MAP good for players?
MAP has real upsides and real trade-offs. Here are both, honestly.
What you gain
- The same price at every authorized store, so there's no need to hunt for a better deal
- Stores compete on advice, stock, fast shipping and after-sales service
- The official manufacturer warranty, with returns handled in the US
- Specialist padel shops and clubs can keep going, which helps the sport grow
What you give up
- Fewer deep discounts on current models
- Sales follow the brand's calendar, not each shop's
- A European listing can look cheaper at first glance, before customs and shipping
- Policies are still settling as padel grows in the US, so they differ between brands
Looking for a lower price? End-of-season and previous-year models are where the biggest savings usually are. See current deals.
How to spot an unauthorized listing
A price far below every authorized US store usually means something is different: the seller, the product or the warranty. Four things to check before you buy.
Not sure about a store? Send us the link-
The price is far below everyone else
Authorized US stores show similar prices. A listing well below all of them is a reason to look closer.
-
It ships from outside the US
That can mean import duties on arrival, slower delivery and returns sent back overseas.
-
No US warranty is mentioned
Check who handles a warranty claim. If it isn't the brand's US warranty, you may not be covered here.
-
The exact model isn't clear
Check the model, year and specs. Older or regional versions are sometimes listed as the current one.
Where our Best Price Guarantee fits
MAP keeps prices aligned, but authorized stores can still run brand-approved sales. If one of them advertises a lower price, we match it.
See our Best Price Guarantee-
Authorized US retailers
We match lower advertised prices from stores the brand officially supplies in the US.
-
The exact same product
Same brand, model, year, size, color and specs, publicly listed and in stock.
-
Before or after you order
Send it before checkout, or up to 14 days after your purchase.
-
Never below MAP
We follow each brand's policy like every authorized store, so we can't match prices below MAP or from unauthorized sellers.
Questions about padel pricing
What does MAP mean in padel?
MAP stands for Minimum Advertised Price. It's the lowest price a padel brand allows its authorized US retailers to advertise a product for. Many padel brands use a MAP policy in the US.
Why does a padel racket cost the same at every US store?
Because of MAP. Authorized US retailers agree not to advertise below the brand's minimum price, so official stores line up. When prices do differ, it's usually a brand-approved sale or a difference in shipping costs.
Is MAP legal in the US?
Yes. In the US, brands can set advertising policies for the stores that sell their products, and MAP policies are common across many categories. In the EU, competition rules generally don't let brands set minimum resale prices, which is one reason prices vary more there.
Why do padel rackets look cheaper in Europe?
Because the listing doesn't show the full cost. A racket shipped from Europe can be charged import duties at US customs, takes longer to arrive, and may not be covered by the brand's US warranty. Returns mean shipping it back overseas. Why order from a US store.
Can I order a padel racket from a European shop?
Brands supply European shops to serve Europe, and many no longer ship to the US. If one does, expect slower delivery, possible import duties at customs and returns sent back overseas.
Does Padel USA ever sell below MAP?
We follow each brand's MAP policy, like every authorized US store. When a brand approves a sale or clearance, we pass it on. You'll find those deals in our sale section.
Will Padel USA match a lower price?
Yes, if it's from an authorized US retailer, for the exact same product, publicly listed and in stock. Send it before you order or up to 14 days after. We can't match prices below the brand's MAP or from unauthorized sellers. See our Best Price Guarantee.
Why are padel rackets expensive in the US?
A racket's price covers much more than the store that sells it: design and manufacturing, international freight, import duties, and the brand's US distribution and warranty support. The brand sets the advertised price, and the retailer's share is only part of it. Ours goes into keeping thousands of padel products in stock, fast shipping, returns and expert advice. What makes padel rackets expensive?
How can I tell if a store is an authorized retailer?
Look for a list of US retailers or a store locator on the brand's website, or ask the brand directly. You can also send us the link and we'll check it for you.
